Front Yard Farm is a small family farm in Carencro, Louisiana. We grow organic produce and are committed to producing  high quality, farm fresh products. Each spring we hold a plant sale in our greenhouse. In addition, we enjoy making small batch sauces and pepper products.

The Garden

Our 4.5 acre property is the home to various fruit trees, perennial herbs and many different flowers. We also grow a variety of seasonal vegetables: garlic, root veggies and greens, to name a few. We like heirloom and open pollinated varieties of many popular veggies, and save seeds from our favorites from year-to-year. Currently, we have about an acre of market garden, with room to expand. We enjoy growing fresh chiles and making pepper products.

How We Grow It

While not certified organic, we grow with organic techniques and inputs such as using natural composts and mulches. We use minimal tillage in preparing our beds. Pest management is achieved, or sometimes not, by a "do little" approach. We respect the work that pollinating and predatory insects do for us. Therefore, we only use OMRI listed pesticides and apply them only when necessary. Don't be surprised if you see Jody in the garden with a vacuum cleaner, that's just how we deal with stink bugs.
